Several floors of a university building in the Russian city of St. Petersburg have collapsed.

Russian news agencies quoted emergency services officials as saying there were no casualties.

They said 81 students, reportedly in the building for elective weekend instruction, had been evacuated safely.

The cause of the collapse in the afternoon on February 16 at the building of the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics was not clear.

The school, known as ITMO University, is one of Russia's national research universities.
