The Florida Panthers will host the 2021 NHL All-Star Game, commissioner Gary Bettman announced Friday.

Florida hosted once previously, in 2003. That was the first time a shootout decided an NHL outcome, won by the Western Conference 6-5. The league adopted the shootout as the regular-season tiebreaking procedure at the start of 2005-06.

"We are in discussions with the Players Association about giving a distinct international flavor to next year's All-Star Game, but more detail will come at a later date," Bettman said.

NHL All-Star Weekend at BBT Center in Sunrise, Fla., will include the NHL All-Star Skills on Jan. 29, 2021, and the NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 30, 2021.

This year's All-Star Game will be played Saturday in St. Louis. Since 2016, the NHL All-Star Game has consisted of each division having its own team, with the four sides squaring off in a three-on-three tournament.
