CHARLOTTE - The Panthers have added depth to their defensive front by claiming defensive tackle Bruce Hector off waivers from the Eagles.
Hector originally signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida in 2018. He appeared in eight games as a rookie, playing 82 snaps in a rotational role. After he was traded to the Cardinals in mid-August 2019, Arizona cut Hector just before the start of the regular season. He eventually landed back with the Eagles, appearing in three games for the club last season.
As a corresponding move, Carolina waived wide receiver Trevontae Hights. The Panthers' roster remains at 80 players.
