ST. PETERSBURG, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Russia's second largest city of St. Petersburg announced on Thursday that it would extend COVID-19 restrictions until Aug. 31, 2023.

According to a press release issued by the city administration, St. Petersburg governor Alexander Beglov signed a decree on the order of the city's chief state sanitary physician.

"All restrictions that have not been lifted will be extended until August 31," the press release said.
